This Letter is the transmitted letter for our 6-18-03 revised bylaws
Northridge Neighborhood Council Enclosed please find the final set of bylaws revisions, which were approved by the Northridge Neighborhood Council on June 18, 2003. These incorporate all the changes recommended by Darren Martinez of the LA City Attorney's office. Boundaries
1. The By-Laws attached have boundaries which have been revised: a. We have removed the areas where DONE certified the areas of North Hills West and the Chatsworth councils and the boundaries of the proposed Porter Ranch council.
2. We added the orphaned area between the Chatsworth and Northridge councils which is between Corbin and Melvin south of the 118 freeway and North of Devonshire.
3. We discussed with both the Lake Balboa and Winnetka Councils the areas where DONE had said there were overlaps. Both these councils agreed that these overlaps should continue to be in Northridge's area. Therefore, they continue to be listed in our map.
1. It has been requested by DONE, in order for Northridge to get certified, that we change several of our by-laws.
2. The last set of changes requested came, via a letter from Rita Moreno of June 6, 2003 wherein she mentions changes she and the City Attorney, Darren Martinez would like to see.
3. We conformed our by-laws with her requests and confirmed these with Darren Martinez in a three hour conference call on June 14, 2003.
4. Our council approved these changes on June 18, 2003.
5. 6. Matthew Fitzgerald, Project coordinator told us at our June 18, 2003 meeting, he had not seen a single set of revised bylaws since our original application in November of 2001. We weren't sure if the previous coordinator and or his supervisor Ms. Moreno had alerted him to our site, but we did make him aware of it and of all five sets of changes which have been published on our web site for both DONE and our stakeholders to see. (see reference listed in #4, above.)
1. We are requesting by this letter to be provided with a transcript of the March 19, 2002 hearing, along with a copy of the two reports DONE had prepared for that meeting; Old Northridge Neighborhood Council and ours.
2. We are also making a request that you remove Pat LoPresti from our contact list, as she has decided not to activity participate in our council. Further, she has declined nomination as a director of our Council. Please replace her name with that of Jane Lowenthal who has been duly elected a director and is now President of our council.
