Dear Julie:
Per your recent conversation with Estelle Lit, please consider this a formal invitation to address the Northridge Community Council at its January 16 meeting. The council meets at 7:00 p.m. in the Penthouse at Northridge Hospital, 18300 Roscoe Blvd.
Specifically, we would like you to update the audience about the current status of the Teacher Training Academy (TTA) high school proposed for the CSUN campus, and to answer community concerns about the placement of the school on the CSUN campus, including:
1. Traffic counts, signalization, and traffic-calming measures
2. Maximum number of students (800, 880, or ?), faculty, and staff
3. Parking adequacy for future years
4. Possible enrollment "cap" if parking spaces are exceeded
5. Number of classrooms and number of students per classroom
6. Reduction in size of building to match enrollment and class sizes
7. Sharing of educational facilities with CSUN, including CSUN’s science labs
8. Sharing of sports facilities with CSUN, including sports fields
9. Assurance that the High School and its curriculum will never change from a TTA
10. Permanent abandonment of Prairie School site as an Elementary school
11. Anticipated increase in crime rate for surrounding neighborhoods.
We look forward to hearing your comments, and appreciate your willingness to attend this important meeting.
Cordially yours,
WALTER N. PRINCE Acting President
