LA City-wide Recreation and Parks event: "Salute to Recreation" which is held each year at the Northridge Park (!) was enjoyed by more than 50,000 people this May 31-June 2, 2003. The Northridge Neighborhood Council assisted in helping arrange for and coordinate the overflow parking and the Shuttle Buses for the event.
Jane Lowenthal (President) above, stands next to one of the buses which proudly carried our banner throughout Northridge on Saturday and Sunday! The Northridge Neighborhood Council wishes to express it's appreciation to Mayor James K. Hahn for providing the shuttle busses. Our thanks to James Burkhardt, the mayor's North Valley Area Director and Jimmy Gonzales our Constituent Service Representative for their assistance in making this happen!
We had a table at Northridge Park's Salute to Recreation on Saturday May 31st and passed out thousands of handouts about our council and spoke to hundreds of Northridge stakeholders and explaining what we as a council are doing for the community!
