Special Meeting 9-17-03 under 24Hr Notice as addition to the agenda
A group who ran for office at our 4-23-03 Meeting and were defeated, see our minutes, have decided, with DONE'S help, to start a competitive council. That's OK, except they appropriated our name, meet at the same time and claim to be us.
Imitation is a form of flattery but, when you become DONE's agents, you can not represent the community.
They represent DONE and the City of Los Angeles.
LA Law prohibits any persons from applying for a council in our area until the courts rule on our appeal. And who paid for these flyers and the delivery to the community? Was it DONE or Smith's office?
But when did DONE ever care about the law?
The damages for attempting to trade on our name and valuable reputation will hopefully pay our cost of suing the city to maintain the rights of the Neighborhood stakeholders. I hope these self appointed leaders have insurance or assets.
I am proposing that we write this letter to the Organizers.
Jim Alger, Dorothy Boberg, Judy Leven Sanchez, Beth Spenser, Frank McGinnis, and Sara Rounds etal.
This is to put you on notice that you cannot claim to be the Northridge Neighborhood Council. Your flyer that was delivered within our community in an attempt to steal our Name and Valuable outreach as the Northridge Neighborhood Council.
Please cease to use our name in any communications and retract your statements that you have any affiliation with the Northridge Neighborhood Council by sending a flyer to each person that received your flyer which falsely claimed you to be the Northridge Neighborhood Council.
Fail to do so and we will demand that each organizer tender a list of each of your insurance policies for any and all liability coverage. We will then make a claim for damages to fund sufficient outreach to undo the damages created by your premeditated and willful misrepresentation that you are the Northridge Neighborhood Council.
Charles Brink Vice President of the real Northridge Neighborhood Council.
